Stacking/three tier architects with merged control planes are artifacts of the 1990’s. Technologies including SNMP, spanning tree, single overlay protocols (VLANs), disruptive upgrades were accepted at the time as there were no other alternatives.
Networking in 2020 is much different, with Arista providing leadership in simplified designs, management planes, management tools, non disruptive change management and 3rdparty middleware integration. Business outcomes include lower CVE exposure, higher utilization of redundant bandwidth, faster performance, reduced OPEX, greater tenant/security segmentation capabilities, and integrated wired/wireless security and management.
