SYNNEX’s Brand Value Continues To Grow – A Winner Of The Best Taiwan Global Brands Award For 18 Consecutive Years.

Taipei, 25 November 2020 – leading global brand valuation consultancy, Interbrand announced the results of the Top 25 Best Taiwan Global Brands 2020 last Tuesday, 17 November. The annual rankings, in its 18th year, assess local companies by their brand value which is calculated by their finances, brand character, and brand strength.

SYNNEX Technology International Corp (TWSE:2347) has once again won the Top 25 Best Taiwan Global Brands 2020 award for the 18th consecutive years. The company is the only distributor brand that received this award recognition with a brand value of USD314 million.

According to The Ministry of Economic Affairs’ Industrial Development Bureau (IDB), who commissioned the ranking assessment, COVID-19 has put companies in a crisis management situation, testing their resilience. The assessment did not only evaluate brands for their overall performance in 2019 but also assessed the countermeasures taken to manage the impact of the pandemic.

During this period, SYNNEX’s mainland China and Australia subsidiaries were able to move immediately to implement strict lockdown measures and deploy remote working models under their crisis management plans. SYNNEX successfully managed the situation ensuring adequate governance, operating structures and crisis response resources were established. Despite the economic disruption, in the first three quarters of 2020, SYNNEX achieved a 9-year record profit, with over 32% increase in profit before tax compared to the same period in 2019.

SYNNEX proactively supports the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) to address the impact of climate change. In its annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report, SYNNEX disclosed its climate-related risks, opportunities, and actions such as its targets for carbon emission reduction and water conservation. Although SYNNEX is not ranked as a high polluting industry, SYNNEX takes responsibility to make a positive difference to minimise the adverse environmental impact of its operations.
